Group Filmmaking with The Cinemalists

Seven Los Angeles Film School graduates: Chris Austin, Lauren Henderson, Michael Lloyd, Jason Martinez, Mike Mollica, Kevin Pack and Patrick Renfro have come together to create a website that showcases their work as filmmakers.

Their website, which was launched this summer, features films produced, directed and shot by the group of former Los Angeles Film School students known as The Cinemalists.

In addition to hosting their films, the website (www.cinemalists.com) gives its users a behind-the-scenes look at the production of each project through photo galleries and videos.

“The Cinemalists began as just a novel idea, one that was spawned by a group of friends who all had the common goals of wanting to make movies and wanting to make them together,” said Kevin Pack, who graduated with the six other graduates in 2006. “What started out as the idea for an outlet to make films amongst a group of friends, has since come to fruition by evolving into a fully functional arts and entertainment banner, in which we plan to create projects all across the board."

When asked what the group hopes to accomplish through their online forum, Pack notes that the objective has changed some since its inception. "Our initial goal of launching the website for the group was to use it as our calling card, to spread the word about the group and our intent, and to reach as many people as we possibly can,” he added. “What it has become is a platform for us to share all of our projects and creative endeavors with the world, as well as a display of our talents and body of work.”
