Admissions Representative

Animation Instructors

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching animation courses on a monthly basis.
  • Providing outside-the-classroom support and assistance to the student body
  • Curriculum Development
  • Course management including the development of materials, assessment, student counseling, data management, scheduling, and other academic activities.
  • Staff management, including the recruiting, hiring, scheduling, mentoring, and supervision of Associate Directors and Industry Specialists within the course.
  • Participation in campus activities, including a monthly open house, special interest groups, and other duties as assigned by the Program Director
  • Ensuring that the course remains current and relevant to the industry
  • Full-time position

Experience Required:

  • Teaching and/or public speaking experience
  • Four or more years of relevant professional experience
  • Familiarity with technology relevant to the subject matter

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred; Associate’s Degree required
  • Excellent presentation and communication abilities are expected, as is a high degree of enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and a mentoring spirit.
  • A passion for teaching
  • Competent with PowerPoint/Keynote, MS Office, Windows and Mac OS as well as the relevant professional software (Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, Z Brush, etc.)
  • Expert with the appropriate professional hardware and software

Receptionist

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and direct all visitors to their designated department of inquiry
  • Route high volume of incoming calls through electronic switchboard
  • Complete data entry and provide general administrative support for Admissions team
  • Perform other clerical duties and support mailroom as needed

Experience Required:

  • Prefer 1 year experience in a Receptionist or Administrative role
  • Professionalism is a must

Skills Required:

  • Possess outstanding organizational skills, excellent communications and listening abilities
  • Have strong technology skills with standard software (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook etc.)
  • Strong ability to multi-task

Instructor, Career Development

Overview:

We are seeking a person with entertainment industry experience to develop and teach a course in career development – networking, resume writing, interviewing skills, job searching, and so forth. This is an adjunct position for a course that will be taught on a monthly basis.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching classes
  • General Course Management: attendance, grades, evaluations, etc.
  • Developing and maintaining curriculum

ExperienceRequired:

  • 4 years professional experience in the entertainment industry
  • Experience as a hiring manager or similar role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (Master’s preferred)

Skills Required:

  • Great public speaking ability

Student Services Assistant

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Registrar(s) with input of class schedule each term into our student database
  • Assist Registrar(s) with term course registration of enrolled students
  • Process enrollment verification letters
  • Process transcript Request
  • Maintenance of student contact information in our student database
  • Print and Distribute attendance rosters
  • Input student attendance on a daily basis
  • Maintenance and audit of student academic files
  • Monitor & Maintain student pink slips from the Business Office and Financial Aid department.
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience Required:

  • Minimum two years experience in administration or registrar office at a post-secondary school or University
  • Experience with students from diverse ethnic, socioeconomic and educational backgrounds
  • Familiarity with computer systems, especially database operations. Experience with Campus Vue preferred

Funds Coordinator

Responsibilities:

  • • Assist in monitor of cash flow through Projection and Delinquency Reports.
  • • Run monthly report of FSEOG funding level and report to Funds Manager.
  • • Transmit daily import files with Ed Connect and distribute daily ISIR Reports.
  • • Assist in collection of data and reporting for FISAP and IPEDS.
  • • Run attendance reports to determine student eligibility at time of disbursement.
  • • Mail out notification receipts to students.
  • • Attend Open House and provide support as necessary.
  • • Assist in cleaning up SSCR Error Report on a bi-monthly basis.
  • • Enter new lenders into CampusVue and ensure that current lender information is accurate.
  • • Make adjustments to loans in ELM and/or CampusVue as necessary.
  • • Run SAP report weekly and provide to Funds Manager.
  • • Enter parent information into CampusVue software for PLUS borrowers.
  • • Work with Financial Aid Officers on resolving outstanding issue files.
  • • Clerical filing as necessary.
  • • Update lenders on school loan periods for academic year.
  • • Coordinate effort of weekly stipend register and submission to Business Office.

  • Computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook
  • BA preferred but not required
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interact with students and internal staff

Instructor, Game Production

Overview:

An Instructor is responsible for developing course curriculum and teaching in the Game Production Degree Program at The Los Angeles Film School. Our unique game production program introduces students to the concepts and methods of video game production in a theoretical yet practical manner, and is taught by industry professionals. From concept to prototype to finished product, students use art assets, game engines, software tools, project management skills and programming to turn ideas into playable 2D and 3D games.
