Requirements
GET ENROLLED AT THE LOS ANGELES FILM SCHOOL
We accept students who are serious about pursuing a career in the world of entertainment media. They must show dedication and commitment to the art. Prospective students are encouraged to visit the school and discuss their personal, educational, and occupational goals with the Office of Admissions.
The Los Angeles Film School has an open enrollment policy, and start dates occur every four weeks. Enrollment is open to any high school graduate who is seriously interested in the field of professional filmmaking, computer animation, or game development. No previous experience in these fields is required for admission.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR FILM
To apply and be considered for enrollment to The Los Angeles Film School’s Associate of Science in Film Degree Program, please submit the following:
• Fully completed application for enrollment
• $75 non-refundable application fee
• Official high school transcript (If a college degree was earned, an official transcript from the college or university where the degree was earned will be accepted in lieu of an official high school transcript.) Unofficial transcripts are not accepted.
Applicants must have a basic proficiency in the English language. The Los Angeles Film School does not offer English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR GAME DEVELOPMENT
Applicants for the Associate of Science in Game Development Degree Program must meet specific eligibility requirements by demonstrating a minimum foundation in Algebra II. Advanced math classes such as pre-calculus and trigonometry are strongly recommended. Introductory programming classes are also recommended.
Acceptance into the degree program is based upon successful completion of a skills assessment test covering advanced mathematical concepts, administered prior to beginning the program. Applicants may request a Math Self-Evaluation from the Admissions Department to help them prepare for the skills assessment test prior to taking the actual test during registration sessions.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPUTER ANIMATION
Applicants for the Associate of Science in Computer Animation Degree Program should possess a foundation in basic artistic skills. Traditional art classes are recommended prior to entering the program. A foundation in sketching, sculpting, and painting is important for the animation industry and is essential for developing the 3D artist.
To apply and be considered for enrollment into the Associate of Science in Computer Animation Degree Program, please submit the following:
• Fully completed application for enrollment
